Federal Government reveals why it cannot release Nnamdi Kanu

Nnamdi Kanu in court 2

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB and director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu was arrested on the 17th of October by the DSS and ever since has been remanded in the custody of the DSS despite meeting bail conditions.

The federal government however has communicated to the federal high court sitting in Abuja over it’s unwillingness to release the Biafran leader. FG reveals that investigations show that Nnamdi Kanu had been given large sums of money for the procurement of weapons. Investigations also claims that Nnamdi Kanu had made inquiries about weapons he intends to purchase.

In the counter-affidavit filed by a senior officer with the Department of State Services, Ayo Ibitoye, the government stressed that it would be in the interest of justice, peace and order, to allow Kanu remain in the  custody of the security agency.
