The registration for the long commenced Bank Verification Number has elapsed. The Central Bank of Nigeria however says it has frozen about 26 million bank account who failed to comply to the Bank Verification Number registration deadline. The BVN date would not be extended according to CBN but there is a lifeline for persons who have failed to meet up to CBN’s deadline date.
CBN says that bank accounts will remain frozen until persons owning these accounts oblige to the registration of their Bank Verification Number. Some bank accounts who were frozen despite BVN registration are adviced to visit their bank to update their BVN information.
